Liverpool tests Juventus resolve to keep Brazilian defender

Liverpool wants Bremer

Liverpool is the latest club to show interest in Juventus and Brazilian defender Gleison Bremer as the Old Lady rebuilds their group under Thiago Motta.

Bremer has been one of Europe’s best defenders since his controversial move from Torino to Juventus, and Manchester United followed the defender for several months.

The Red Devils recently dropped their interest and focused on a move for Matthijs de Ligt instead, making room for another club to make a move for Bremer.

The Brazilian is happy in Turin, and Juventus now considers him an important player for Thiago Motta, who has been tasked with rebuilding their group this summer.

However, Liverpool is now keen on the defender, and a report on Tuttojuve claims the Reds have sent an offer worth 60 million euros to Juve in exchange for Bremer’s signature.

Juve signed him for 45 million euros, so this offer represents a significant profit, but the report claims that Juve does not wish to sell him as they consider him an important part of their rebuild.

The Bianconeri are considering the offer, but the Old Lady is more focused on offloading some other players now before considering selling a key man like Bremer.

What Top Six Football Thinks

Bremer has been fantastic for Juventus since joining them, and he remains one of the best defenders in Serie A at the moment, but Liverpool do not need a new centre-back.

Jarrel Quansah, Ibrahima Konate, Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, and Sepp van den Berg are good options for Arne Slot. He should work with the group he has for now and resist the temptation to spend money for the sake of spending.
