Manchester United OUTCAST reintegrated into first-team

Man United

Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho has reportedly been allowed back to the club’s first team after holding a positive meeting with Erik ten Hag.

The Englishman and his coach had a falling out last year after he refused to apologise to Ten Hag for the statement he made online following his omission from the squad. Sancho effectively called his manager a liar over the reasons for his omission from the team at Arsenal in September, leading to his being forced to train and eat on his own for four months before rejoining Borussia Dortmund on loan in January.

He enjoyed his loan spell in Germany and was instrumental in Dortmund’s run to the Champions League final. However, he was unable to secure a permanent move and has returned to Old Trafford. Given his refusal to apologise to Ten Hag, there were suggestions he would be sold this summer. As we reported earlier this week, Juventus were interested in signing him, and Sancho was open to the deal.

However, fresh reports from Sportsmail claim that the 24-year-old may no longer be leaving this summer after holding positive talks with Ten Hag. The report states that both men met face to face this week and they clarified the situation. They agreed to draw a line on their disagreement and move on, a development that should bring relief to Manchester United fans.

He will be available for pre-season games, with Man United touring the US later this month in pre-season friendlies. However, he will not be ready to play in Monday’s opening pre-season friendly against Rosenborg and will remain at Carrington when the players who returned to training two days earlier travel to Trondheim.

WHAT TOP SIX FOOTBALL THINKS

It is no secret that Jadon Sancho is a quality player. The Englishman proved he still had a lot to offer during his loan spell at Borussia Dortmund. His loan success also suggests that he only thrives when the right environment is provided.

So, the news that he and Erik ten Hag have made up is a win-win situation for Manchester United. With Sancho’s potential return, the club will not have to worry about signing a new winger. Instead, they could have a motivated and focused Sancho back in the squad, a prospect that should fill fans with optimism.
