Kyle Walker to ignore interest from Bayern Munich and sign a new Manchester City deal as Fabrizio Romano confirms talks are ongoing

Kyle Walker to stay at Manchester City

Manchester City is in talks with Kyle Walker over a new contract after reports linked him with a move to Bayern Munich in this transfer window.

The defender was in and out of the City team last season as Pep Guardiola gave chances to Rico Lewis, and it seemed he will leave the Etihad in this transfer window.

After winning the treble, many players could end their spell at City and Walker was seen as one person who could leave. This encouraged Bayern Munich to show an interest in his signature, but the Germans will likely fail.

Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has now delivered an update on his future and claims City have opened talks to keep the England international at the Etihad.

If true, it would be the second high-profile player that Thomas Tuchel has failed to lure from the Premier League to Bayern, after Declan Rice also turned him down in favour of a move to Arsenal.

However, the Germans will feel they still have a chance and might push to add him to their squad until City and the full-back reach a full agreement and he signs on the dotted lines.
