Mauricio Pochettino promises more Chelsea signings despite £600m outlay across the last two transfer windows

New Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has promised that the club will bring in more players in this transfer window despite spending £600m in the last two windows.

The Blues have been splashing the cash since Todd Boehly took over, with their spending toppling that of every club in Europe during that time.

As such, they have been forced to sell some of their players this summer to cut down a bloated squad and in keeping with Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules.

But Pochettino has promised that Chelsea will add more players this summer despite the clear-out. The Blues have already signed Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson this summer to add more firepower to the ranks, and Pochettino is expecting further movement before the next deadline passes.

The Argentine has told Chelsea’s official website: “If we are all together, we are going to be very strong. We have an unbelievable squad and for sure are going to bring players with commitment who want to be part of it also. With the fans and everyone, we can find again the way to be successful.

It is not closed; the squad and the club is doing a fantastic job finishing the squad, so we have the players here to work with us as soon as possible. Together, we are going to be in a perfect situation to work and develop the way we want to apply ourselves on the pitch.”
