Chelsea JOIN race for £50m-rated Arsenal striker

Chelsea have joined the list of several clubs interested in signing Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun.

The Stamford Bridge club want to sign a striker this summer after their struggles in front of goal last season.

They have already signed Nicolas Jackson from Villarreal but are open to further signings, having already sold Kai Harvetz to Arsenal and want to sell Romelu Lukaku and Pierre Emerick-Aubemayang this summer.

Although they have signed Nicolas Jackson from Villarreal, Football Transfers via Sportsmail claim that the Blues have entered talks with Balogun over a summer move to Stamford Bridge.

The 22-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough campaign while on loan at Reims last season, scoring 21 Ligue 1 goals in 27 games. His performances in France have attracted clubs from across Europe, with Italian giants AC Milan and Inter Milan, French sides Marseille and Monaco, and German’s RB Leipzig expressing their interest.

He has already informed Arsenal he wants to leave permanently this summer unless he is guaranteed regular game time in the Gunners’ first team.

Chelsea want to keep him in London, but Arsenal’s valuation of the player could hinder Mauricio Pochettino’s side from landing him. The Gunners have placed a £50 million price tag on the striker, which is too much for Chelsea, who want to avoid breaking Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules.
