Christian Eriksen hails ‘strong’ 20-year-old striker set for Manchester United move

Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen has stated that his side are getting a powerful striker by signing his Denmark teammate Rasmus Hojlund.

The  Danish forward is set to complete his move to Old Trafford from Atalanta after he agreed to personal terms with United, and the Serie A side accepted the Red Devils’ £72 million proposal for the 20-year-old.

Although Hojlund still has to complete a medical while United work on finalising the deal, the former Strum Graz striker could play for Erik ten Hag’s side in Saturday’s friendly against Lens at Old Trafford or Athletic Bilbao in Dublin the next day.

Ahead of his imminent move, United midfielder Eriksen has told fans what they should expect from Hojlund.

Eriksen said via (Sportsmail): “What’s he like? He’s a strong No 9. He’s developed a lot in the last year since I first saw him with the national team, so he’s a very good player.”

The 20-year-old was largely unknown until he emerged through the ranks with Denmark and scored nine goals in Serie A last season for Atalanta following a £15m move from Sturm Graz.

“I suppose we don’t get enough media attention in Denmark, that’s why, so people outside Denmark don’t know enough,” Eriksen added.

“He’s a nice guy; he’s a good player. Like I said, he’s developed, turning into just a No 9, which he’s played for the national team.

“I have to be honest. I haven’t seen that many games for Atalanta, but I know how they play, and he fitted in well there, so, yeah, he’s a good player.”
