Free-spending Premier League side Chelsea are reportedly set to announce the signing of Nicolas Jackson from Villarreal after the forward completed a medical.
Last week Chelsea were reported to be interested in the Senegal international and were said to be keen on triggering his release clause.
And now, according to The Athletic, the 22-year-old has undergone a medical at Chelsea and will become Chelsea’s first senior signing since Mauricio Pochettino was appointed head coach.
The Senegal international will join the Stamford Bridge side in a deal worth €35 million (£30m/$38m) after the Blues agreed to match his release clause.

Jackson enjoyed an impressive season at Villarreal, scoring 13 times in 38 appearances in all competitions for the Yellow Submarines. His arrival will likely see Kai Havertz complete a transfer from Stamford Bridge to Arsenal for around £65million ($83m).
The striker’s arrival in London will be another transfer activity in Chelsea’s busy summer. The Stamford Bridge side are set to see Havertz join Arsenal and Mateo Kovacic move to Manchester City.
Meanwhile, N’Golo Kante and Kalidou Koulibaly have left for Saudi Arabia, and Hakim Ziyech and Edouard Mendy will likely follow them. The futures of Romelu Lukaku, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Cesar Azipilicueta, and Christian Pulisic remain uncertain, while Mason Mount remains a transfer target of Manchester United.
