Atletico Madrid are want to sign Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg.
The Spanish club has opened talks with the Denmark international, who is keen to leave Tottenham this summer.
Sportsmail claim that Hojbjerg wants to play Champions League football next season and is considering the interest from Atletico.
However, Diego Simeone’s side are not the only club keen on signing him this summer. Clubs in Germany are also mulling over a move for him.
But, per the report, Tottenham have shown an unwillingness to do business. Yet, sources have indicated that discussions are ongoing to make the move happen.
Hojbjerg has been a key member of the Tottenham squad since he arrived from Southampton in 2020. He made 145 first-team appearances in those three seasons.
Bayern Munich have been linked with the defensive midfielder this summer, but it is understood Atletico’s interest is most advanced as things stand.
