Liverpool CONSIDERING Cheick Doucoure as Fabinho and Henderson replacement

Liverpool have reportedly added Crystal Palace’s midfielder Cheick Doucoure to their summer transfer list.

The Reds are looking to rebuild their midfield this summer and have added Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai,l to their number.

However, they are still looking to add a specialist defensive midfielder, as they are increasingly likely to lose Fabinho and Jordan Henderson in the coming days.

Both players have been linked with moves to Saudi Arabia, with Al-Ittihad reportedly close to signing Fabinho for £40m, while Henderson is set for a £12m move to Al-Ettifaq.

Jurgen Klopp has a list of targets to fill in if the duo is sold, with Cheick Doucourethe’s latest name on the list. Southampton’s Romeo Lavia, Nice’s Khepran Thuram and Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat are other names on their list.

According to The Athletic, Liverpool fancy Doucoure and see him as an alternative should a move for their number one target Lavia falls through.

However, Palace will hold out for a ‘significant sum’ for Doucoure- who only joined the club last summer. The Malian international joined Palace for £22m from Lens last season, making 35 appearances. He enjoyed a stellar debut campaign in the Premier League and won the Crystal Palace Player of the Year award.

Sources claim that Palace have placed a £70m price tag on him. But it remains to be seen if Liverpool will be willing to pay that day, given that Lavia, Amrabat and Thurman are valued for less.
