Manchester City CONSIDERING move for Barcelona winger as Riyad Mahrez nears exit

Manchester City will reportedly pursue a move for Barcelona winger Raphinha after selling Riyad Mahrez to Al-Ahli.

Mahrez is set to leave for the Middle East this summer after Man City accepted Al-Ahli’s bid.

Although the Cityzens did not want to lose him this summer, the Algerian intends to depart, having become dissatisfied with a lack of a starring role at the Etihad.

With imminent departure leaving a void in City’s attack, Pep Guardiola has already started preparing for life without him.

According to Sportsmail, Guardiola wants Raphinha as a replacement, with the former Leeds winger’s profile appealing to the Catalan coach.

Raphinha’s Former agent, Deco, is the current director of football at Barcelona and could be involved in negotiations for his former client to return to England.

Barcelona are expected to raise funds by the end of August to register their new signings, and selling Raphinha could help them do that.
